Morning Supplication
Softly, as the sun doth rise,
To herald in a brand new day,
I awaken with a smile,
And to my Lord and Saviour pray,
To thank him for seeing me through,
A dream filled night, free from all dread,
The nightmares, they at last are gone,
And pleasant dreams now fill my head,
As haunted terrors fade to nought,
Amongst the stars my visions float,
With the angels, flying high,
To places near and some remote,
Chasing stardust, brightly coloured,
Glorious, in hue and shade,
All the galaxies before me,
I know God, with his hands made,
Back to earth my dreams now take me,
And the wonders, I now see,
Children laughing, singing, playing,
Everything in harmony,
No more wars and no more sorrow,
Peace now reigns in every land,
From the mountains, streams and forests,
To the golden desert sand,
Gentle people work together,
For the good of all mankind,
Praising now our Heavenly Saviour,
Who with his blood, sin did bind,
So that we may live forever,
As we walk through Heaven's Door,
Joining all those gone before us,
Love and peace, for evermore,
Yes my Jesus, I now thank you,
For the treasures you bestow,
My dreams filled with priceless visions,
Helping now, my faith to grow,
Safe, secure, within the knowledge,
Of the life you offer me,
Where at last, I'll bow before you,
Thanking you on bended knee.
