That indefinable moment in time,
When heart, soul and mind become one with our Lord,
Oft not the moment you claim that you're reborn,
Learning to live life by God's Holy Word,
It's in the time that you spend alone with him,
With open heart hearing his soft voice call,
Raising your spirits when you're feeling weary,
Holding you gently, so you cannot fall.
Precious the time that you spend with our Saviour,
In the seclusion of your sanctuary,
No voice to talk with and no ears to listen,
It's with your heart you commune constantly,
Minds can make voices say what e'er they want to,
But hearts don't lie, for they know not how to,
So with your heart you now talk to our Saviour,
He listens quietly to words that are true.
Sometimes the words that your heart speaks are tainted,
Coloured by hatred and envy and greed,
Though truth is locked in their every emotion,
It is a truth from which you can be freed,
As you repent out of love for our Master,
Wanting to serve him with heart, soul and mind,
Then in those moments your burdens are lifted,
All that's required, is you leave them behind.
Then there are times when you just talk things over,
How your life's going, the things that you do,
Asking if your aspirations are valid,
In line with what he wants, do they stay true?
Other times, just sitting there in his presence,
His peace and love saturating your heart,
Those precious moments you treasure forever,
Knowing from his path you'll never depart.
Faith will not falter as he walks beside you,
He's ever present each time that you call,
But it takes practice to listen with your heart,
If what he tells you, you wish to recall,
So it's important to find your sanctuary,
And make the time to hear all he doth say,
Quality time that you spend alone with him,
Those precious moments guide you through each day.
